House of Tea

A dainty new tea shop/ cafe has recently opened in the swan centre in Rathmines, Dublin 6. House of tea is so quaint and has an extensive menu of teas from around the globe. This new inclusion also has a delicious selection of nibbles from pastries to sandwiches.

Myself and the boyfriend enjoyed some of its delights last week. He had a ‘scented tea’ called Kashmiri which is a lovely blend of black and green teas with cinnamon, ginger, cloves and vanilla. I had a ‘herbal tea’ called Bad Weather and the ingredients in this are a blend of blackberry, strawberry, fennel, sunflower blossoms, mint and more. Both were just scrumptious and came in quite a large tea-pot and an accompanying biscuit. And all at a reasonable €3.50 per pot.

Quirks included beautiful little china cups and saucers. Both of our pots were kept at a warm temperature as they were placed on a candle enclosed within a china case (I’m a tad unsure what to call the contraption but ‘case’ will do). Not only is it a cafe  but one can purchase all of the sumptuous teas on offer and accessories such as strainers, mugs, tea pots, tea sets etc.

On top of all this the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. We’re considering making this a weekly treat. After all who can beat a good cuppa. 😉
