Velvet

I do like a bit of velvet and I was thrilled to see it hit the autumn/ winter 2010 runways. This seasons trend is draped, fitted, long sleeve, no sleeve, full length, knee length and looks like pure luxury. But do beware of taking the tacky route. I remember donning the the trend in my youth and going a tad overkill with it. Avoid overly shiny pieces. One piece of velvet in your outfit will look far classier than teaming a velvet skirt or dress with a velvet blouse or jacket. A beautiful velvet skirt and a simple blouse or a simple rich red frock are the way to go. Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Ralph Lauren, Jill Stuart and many more had the fabric all over their autumn/ winter 10 runways. I have spotted some high street gems that won’t break the bank too.
